Imperial Palace Las Vegas
Imperial Palace is a 2,700 room hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip. The hotel and casino were owned by Imperial Palace LLC until purchased by the current owner, Harrah's Entertainment.
It is situated next to Harrah's and shares a monorail stop with Harrahs. It is close to the Flamingo, Ceasars Palace, Forum Shops, Venetian and Treasure Island.

From 1959 to 1979 the property was called the Flamingo Capri. In 1979, it was renamed to the Asian-themed Imperial Palace by new owner Ralph Engelstad. Engelstad oversaw a major renovation in 1988 which added an 18-story tower.
On August 22, 2005, Harrah's announced plans to purchase this property. On December 23, 2005, Harrah's announced it had completed the acquisition.

During a conference call with investors on November 20, 2005, the Chairman for Harrah's, Gary Loveman, did not surprise industry analysts when he said that both the Imperial Palace and neighboring O'Shea's "are going to require very substantial modifications or complete tear-downs and rebuilds" in order to make room for a Harrah's and/or Flamingo expansion on the Strip.

The casino has a devoted following, and it iis famous for its vintage decors and comfortable atmosphere. The rooms are good sized, clean and very well located, and the beds are good. As you may guess we are fans of the Imperial Palace, but to be fair, we have never stayed anywhere else. We will have to choose a new hotel when we come to Las Vegas again.

The hotel is home to the Imperial Palace Auto Collection. The Imperial Palace Auto Collection is a major collection of antique cars. The collection is owned by a third party who leases space at the casino for the display.
The Legends in Concert, a musical review of celebrity impersonators is famous on the Strip. There are a couple of competitors, but Legends in Concert is still judged the best on the Strip.
